In April 2002, he graduated from the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, MCAS Yuma, Arizona and served because the UH WTI within the Tactics Department with the 15th MEU (SOC) aboard USS Tarawa. During this deployment, the MEU was despatched to Iraq and took part in OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM I. Contingency operations included anti-piracy operations within the Gulf of Aden in help of Combined Task Force 151 and the rescue of Captain Richard Phillips.

In August 2009, Major Angersbach transferred to HMLA-369 and have become the assistant aviation upkeep officer.
